Sydney: The United States won their second consecutive gold medal in Olympic women's basketball with a convincing 76-54 victory over Australia on Saturday.
Ahead by 43-30 at half-time, the US team allowed Australia to fight back early in the second half to be within seven points before the Americans regained control.
Lisa Leslie and Natalie Williams each had 15 points for the US while 19-year-old Lauren Jackson scored 20 for the silver medallists.
Earlier on Saturday, Brazil beat South Korea 84-73 in overtime to win the bronze.
