32-member Indian archery team for Asian Jr champs announced

Jamshedpur, May 21 (UNI) Jharkhand archers dominated the 32-member national squad as selectors named players for second Asian junior and first cadet archery championship to be held in Chinese Taipaei from June 14 to 20.

Announcing the national team after conclusion of a selection trial at JRD Tata sports complex here yesterday, Archery Association of India (AAI) assistant general secretary Sanjeeva Singh said the selected players would attend a coaching camp beginning here from today.

The camp would continue till June 13, Mr Singh added.

Out of 32 archers for both junior and cadet categories, 27 archers from the state had found berth in the national squad while archers from Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) secured the rest of the slots, Mr Singh informed.
