Historical Context and Preparations
The roadmap for the 38th National Games began with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2014 between the IOA and the Uttarakhand State Olympic Association (USOA). The IOA had initially outlined 34 sports disciplines for the Games.
However, later finalizee the list of 32 competition sports and 4 demonstration events during a meeting in 2023. With world-class facilities being developed across Uttarakhand, the Games aim to set a new standard in the promotion of both traditional and contemporary sports in India.
