5-day bowlers camp ends in Mysore
Mysore, June 8 (UNI) The five-day bowlers camp for Indian cricketers concluded at the Infosys Global Training Centre Campus on the outskirts of the city today.
Addressing mediapersons here, Physical Trainer Gregory King said the main objective of the camp was to condition and bring bowlers to peak fitness in view of the busy schedule in the coming months.
India is scheduled to tour Ireland and England later this month.
''In view of the hectic schedule it was important to prepare the bowlers to bear the rigours of both versions of the game. New technologies were used during the camp and it was held as per the guidelines provided by the BCCI,'' King said.
Expressing satisfaction over the camp, he said ''Each one of the players need to be given personal attention thus helping them improve their fitness level and the traning was of great help in this endeavour.'' The training which was held from pre-breakfast till dinner time, was held both on and off the field.
On Irfan Pathan's performance, King said he had come good in the camp and continued to improve while adding that Munaf Patel was fit enough and improving with each passing day.
King said there were personal parleys between each player and Bowling Coach Venkatesh Prasad. Interestingly, there were interactive sessions with the Infosys top officials on leadership qualities.
The South African trainer termed the Infosys campus here as an amazing one with world-class facilities.
The Infosys campus housed a state-of-the-art gym, swimming pools, aerobics, yoga and meditation centres, besides full-fledged courts for badminton, volleyball, basketball, tennis and table tennis.
