Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon In Udaipur Reaches 5,500+ Registrations
Hindustan Zinc will host the third edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon in Udaipur on 6 September 2026, with 30 days to go and more than 5,500 registrations already across the 21.097K, 10K and 5K races. The event will once again place Udaipur on India’s running map.
The race, organised by Hindustan Zinc Limited with Anybody Can Run and certified by AIMS and affiliated with World Athletics, is known as India’s Most Beautiful Marathon. It will bring together professional athletes, first-time runners, families, students and corporate teams under the theme “One Run, One Community.”

Strong early registration numbers
Registrations have crossed key marks across all three categories. More than 800 runners have signed up for the 21.097 km Half Marathon, over 1,500 for the 10 km Cool Run and more than 3,200 for the 5 km Dream Run. The event is also linked to #RunForZeroHunger.
| Category | Registered runners |
|---|---|
| 21.097 km Half Marathon | 800+ |
| 10 km Cool Run | 1,500+ |
| 5 km Dream Run | 3,200+ |
The marathon will start from Field Club, Udaipur. The half marathon route will pass Fateh Sagar Pal, Rotary Circle, Sunset Point Park, Nehru Garden and Saheliyon Ki Bari before looping back. The 10 km and 5 km routes have been planned for safe participation across age groups and fitness levels.
Set against Fateh Sagar Lake, the Aravalli Hills and Udaipur’s cultural landmarks, the race has grown in scale and profile over the past two editions. Last year, it drew 7,000 runners from 27 Indian states and several countries, showing rising interest in endurance sport beyond major metros.
Ashmika Sharma, an avid runner from Udaipur, said the race feels personal to her after taking part in the last two editions. Amanda Dascoulias, a runner from the United States and a former U.S. Army Sergeant, said she looks forward to running in Udaipur with runners from India and abroad.
Sports tourism and local impact
Organisers expect the marathon to support Udaipur’s hospitality and tourism sectors, including hotels, restaurants, transport operators and retail businesses. Hindustan Zinc said the event has become a showcase of the city’s growing role as a destination for inclusive sporting events and sports tourism.
Registrations are open through the official Udaipur Marathon and Hindustan Zinc digital platforms until all categories are filled. Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, is the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the top 10 silver producers globally, supplying to more than 40 countries.
