India's high jump scene is looking strong in 2026, with both Aadarsh Ram and Sarvesh Kushare delivering impressive performances early in the season.

This was an improvement from his previous best of 2.21m, which he had achieved last year while winning silver at the Inter-State Athletics Championships.

Aadarsh has been consistent this year. Earlier in 2026, he won a bronze medal at the Asian Indoor Championships with a jump of 2.19m. It was a special moment for him, as it marked the first international medal of his career.

Although he was expected to start his outdoor season at the Indian Open Jumps competition, he was undergoing rehabilitation just before the event.

Meanwhile, Sarvesh Kushare, a finalist at the World Championships 2025, also showed signs of returning to top form. He achieved his season best of 2.23m at the same Bengaluru meet. However, his start to 2026 was not very smooth.

Sarvesh began his season by winning gold at the Indian Open Jumps competition with a jump of 2.16m. He then competed at the National Indoor Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, where he was surprisingly beaten by local athlete Swadhin Kumar, finishing second with 2.15m.

Despite this, Sarvesh had a strong 2025 season, winning multiple competitions and finishing fifth at the. He also represented India at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he cleared 2.15m in qualification.

As of now, both Aadarsh Ram and Sarvesh Kushare are ranked seventh in Asia in 2026. With performances like these, Indian high jump is clearly on the rise.

We can see them competing again in the Federation Cup, which will be the final qualification opportunity for the Commonwealth Games 2026. However, both have already breached the qualification marks with their performances today.
