Abhey Chautala elected FAAB vice-president

Chandigarh, Feb 10 (UNI) Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) President Abhey Singh Chautala was today elected unopposed as the vice-president of Federation Of Asian Amateur Boxing (FAAB) in a election meeting held in Chinese Taipei.

Mr Chautala is the only office bearer from the South East Asia to be elected for this coveted sports organisation.

Mr Gafur Rakhimov of Uzbekistan was elected President replacing Prof Anwar Chaudhary of Pakistan. Manuel Lopes from Philippines was retained as Secretary General.

Mr Chautala thanked the Asian member countries for the faith reposed in him. ''We will like to provide more opportunities and latest technical support to the Asian boxing players as we have successfully done in India,'' he said.
