The Las Vegas Aces rebounded from a disappointing 81-54 loss to the Indiana Fever with a decisive 86-68 win against the Connecticut Sun. A'ja Wilson, who scored 19 points in the victory, highlighted the team's determination to recover from their previous defeat. Coach Becky Hammon had criticised the team for their lack of professionalism against Indiana, prompting a strong response in Connecticut.
A'ja Wilson expressed the team's resolve after their setback against Indiana. "We got embarrassed against Indiana," she said. "We understood that we didn't want to go down that road any more. We get tired of being in that space." She emphasised their focus on defence as a key factor in their improved performance, saying it helped them regain momentum.

In the game against the Sun, both A'ja Wilson and Dana Evans played pivotal roles. Wilson contributed 19 points, while Evans added 18 points, showcasing a balanced offensive effort. Their combined performance was crucial in securing the win at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Currently holding a 9-9 record, the Aces are positioned fifth in the Western Conference standings. They trail slightly behind the Golden State Valkyries, who have a record of 9-8. Despite recent struggles with seven losses in their last twelve games, Coach Hammon remains optimistic about their progress.
Coach Hammon acknowledged that integrating new players like Jewell Loyd and NaLyssa Smith has been challenging. "I think people take for granted how many new pieces we have," she noted. The team is still adjusting to these changes and working on establishing its identity.
Hammon stressed patience as they continue to develop as a team. "It's all brand new; it's been a process," she explained. While she hopes for quicker progress, she is content as long as they move forward and show improvement.
The Aces are focused on building cohesion and consistency as they navigate this transitional phase. With ongoing efforts to integrate new talent and refine strategies, they aim to strengthen their position in the league standings moving forward.
