Aditya Enters World Boxing U-19 Final as India Secure Two Gold Medal Bouts
India enjoyed a strong outing at the 2026 World Boxing U-19 Championships in Budva, Montenegro, as Aditya stormed into the men's 55kg final with a commanding semifinal victory on Sunday evening.
The Asian U-19 silver medallist delivered a dominant performance against Azerbaijan's Nihat Gasimov, securing a unanimous 5-0 decision from the judges after controlling the contest across all three rounds. Aditya will now compete for the gold medal against Russia's Islam Magomedov.

India's medal hopes received another boost through Megha Sheokand, who booked her place in the women's 80kg final. She defeated Kyrgyzstan's Meerim Chynybekova by a Referee Stops Contest (RSC) decision in the semifinals, putting herself within reach of the gold medal.
Meanwhile, India are assured of two bronze medals from the competition. Harshika narrowly missed out on a place in the women's 65kg final after losing 3-2 to the United States' Lauryn Elmore in a closely contested semifinal.
Earlier, Prachi Tokas secured bronze in the women's 80+kg category following her semifinal defeat.
With Aditya and Megha advancing to their respective finals, India will have two opportunities to finish their campaign with gold medals at the prestigious youth boxing championship.
