Adrian Lee “Surprised” By Tye Ruotolo's MMA Callout, Excited For Potential Fight

ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo recently teased his transition to MMA after successfully defending his crown against Dante Leon. Following the win, the 22-year-old American sensation called out his compatriot Adrian Lee as a potential opponent for his MMA debut.

Now, the 19-year-old prodigy has responded to the callout from the undefeated submission grappling champion. The youngest member of the famous Lee family admitted that Ruotolo's challenge took him by surprise.

Adrian Lee Surprised By Tye Ruotolo s MMA Callout Excited For Potential Fight

"Honestly, I was surprised when Tye Ruotolo called me out for his MMA debut. Personally, I don't think I'm a good matchup for him. I don't think I'd be what a good feeder for him is, if that's what he's looking for. But I'm excited for that match," Lee said.

Tye's twin, ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Champion Kade Ruotolo, made a successful MMA debut in 2024, compiling a 3-0 record since. Now, the other half of the Ruotolo brothers is looking to follow the same path.

But it won't be an easy task. Lee showcased tremendous skills and fight IQ in his debut, earning a submission win. He then continued his rise with two more submission victories over tough opponents.

Lee was quick to acknowledge that the Ruotolo brothers are well-rounded grapplers. He also stated their grappling style translates to MMA but believes he can beat both of them - even in a submission grappling match.

"I think he's a great athlete. Him and his brother, Kade, they're phenomenal wrestlers and grapplers, and that really helps tie into their MMA game because of how dynamic they are. Their type of grappling style is more suited for MMA," Lee said.

"I have the grappling skills. I believe that I could submit Kade or Tye Ruotolo in a grappling match. Just adding that to my striking and wrestling skills, I really believe that I'd beat them everywhere."
