After his double century, Pieterson enters exclusive club
Dubai, May 29 (UNI) England batsman Kevin Pietersen has now joined an exclusive club of Test players who have earned more than 900 ratings points in the LG ICC Player Rankings.
The attacking right-handed batsman scored his maiden Test double century against West indies at Headingley and in the process became just the 21st player in the history of Test cricket to get over 900 ratings points.
In his 25 Tests, Pietersen has scored 2,448 runs at an average of 54.40 and has hit eight centuries and nine fifties in just 47 innings.
Only Sir Don Bradman has scored more runs in his first 25 Tests than Pietersen. Bradman had compiled 3,194 runs in his first 25 Tests at an average of 91.25 scoring 13 centuries and five fifties in the process.
But despite achieving this landmark, Pietersen still lies at the third position in the LG ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen behind Aussie captain Ricky Ponting and Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan.
