Air Force Weightlifting Championship begins

Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) The Air Force Weightlifting Championship was declared open by Air Commodore S C Luthra, Air Officer Commanding, 3 BRD (Base Repair Depot) here today.

A total of eight teams namely WAC (Western Air Command) , SWAC (South Western Air Command), MC (Maintenance Command), TC (Training Command), CAC (Central Air Command), EAC (Eastern Air Command), SAC(Southern Air Command) and Air Head Quarters are taking part in the championship.

The aim of the championship is to select the Air Force team for the forthcoming Services Championship scheduled to be held at 3BRD from December 4 to 7.

Weight categories of 69 Kg, 77 Kg, 94 Kg, 105 Kg and 105 Kg plus will be contested during the five-day long championship.
