Aiyar assures justice in fake certificates row

Vijayawada, Sep 29 (UNI) Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Sports Mani Shankar Aiyar today assured the Krishna District Archery Association (KDAA) that justice would be done in the fake certificates issue allegedly created by Throwball Federation of India (Ramanna Group) to grab seats in the professional courses.

The KDAA while submitting a memorandum to the minister requested him to intervene in the matter and order for waival of the said permission accorded to the fake Throwball Federation by its ministry. It also urged suitable action on the personnel responsible and render justice to the genuine sportsmen and women.

KDAA President Cherukuri Satyanarayana after handing over the memorandum to the minister told UNI that the Throwball Federation of India was not having any recognition with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

After obtaining a permission letter from the sports ministry, the Federation went on a recreation tour to Singapore, had innovated and propogated that the first Asian Throwball chamionship was held from february 22 to 25.

The Federation had created documents showing that certain individuals have attained gold medals in the tournament by deceiving the Centre and State Government for getting medical seats in MBBS, BDS courses under sports quota.

It may be recalled that International Archer Mandava Rishita went on a hunger fast here for four days for denial of medical seat by NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) under sports quota.

The saap had given preference to the federation during certificate verification submitted by the individuals, even those were fake, Ms Rishita opined.
