Akram advises Akhtar not to rush for a comeback
Lahore, May 14 (UNI) Offering a piece of advice to Pakistan pace spearhead Shoaib Akhtar, former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram said the beefy bowler shouldn't try to push himself too hard to make a comeback.
''He (Shoaib) should not rush his return to cricket and take his time to recover from his injury,'' Akram said in the sidelines of a two-week coaching camp for youngsters in Lahore.
Lauding the beefy bowler as one of the vital weapon of the pakistani squad, the former southpaw bowler said it was important for him to avoid injuries as he still has atleast two years of cricket in him.
''Shoaib can still play a couple of years for the country if he takes good care of himself to avoid further injuries,'' Aktar was quoted as saying by ''The News''.
Shoaib Aktar could not make it to the Pakistan's World Cup squad for a reported knee injury and has played just one test and four one-dayers in the last 14 months because of injuries. The 31-year-old was supposed to make a comeback in the upcoming Afro-Asian Cup in India but he pulled out of it citing personal reasons.
