Alok downs Dharmendar to lift 9-ball pool title

Chennai, Jan 27 (UNI) Alok Kumar of Punjab defeated Dharmendar Lilly 11-9 to annexe the title in the Dhilipan Memorial All India 9-Ball Pool Tournament here last evening.

The winner received a purse of Rs 32,000, while the runner up got Rs 20,000.

Earlier, international Pankaj Advani lost to Gagandeep narrowly 6-7 in the pre-quarterfinals.

Results: Pre-quarterfinals: Dharmendar Lilly bt Devendra Joshi 7-2, Kamal Chawla bt Chitra 7-5, Nadeem Ahmed bt Varun 7-2, Balaji Reddy bt Manan Chandra 7-5, Gagandeep bt Pankaj Advani 7-6, Alok Kumar bt Kamaraj 7-4, Rafath Habib bt Angello Johnson 7-4, Eashwar bt Pranav Jain 7-3 Quarterfinals: Dharmendar Lilly bt Kamal Chawla 9-3, Nadeem Ahmed bt Balaji Reddy 9-2, Alok Kumar bt Gagandeep 9-6, Rafath Habib bt Eashwar 9-2 Semifinals: Dharmendar Lilly bt Nadeem Ahmed 9-8, Alok Kumar bt Rafath Habib 9-4 Final: Alok kumar bt Dharmendar Lilly 11-9.
