Amal Raj hogs limelight in Men's singles

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) A Amal Raj stole the show overpowering Hong Kong's 's Tse Ka Chun in the first round of the Men's Singles main draw of the ITTF pro tour tournamemt here today.

Amal Raj displayed tremendous grit as he accounted for Tse Ka Chun in a marathon 7 games match which extended to full length.

Leading 3-0, Amal lost next 3 games to Tse Ka Chun to level at 3-3.

After being in an advantageous position in the deciding rubber, with scores 5-3 and 8-5, Amal lost 5 points in a row and was down at 8-10.

However, he held his nerves to display some fantastic and unexpected shots, with back hand flicks down the line to opponent's fore hand extreme levelled scores at 10-10.

The Indian continued his supremacy to score a back hand topspin winner again down the line to opponent's fore hand.

He sealed the match with a net ball and won the game at 12-10 and the match by 4-3 and advanced to the 2nd round of the main draw.
