Amalraj and Neha qualified for the main draw

Jaipur, June 3 (UNI) A Amalraj of Tamil Nadu and Neha Agrawal of Delhi have qualified for the men and women single main draw respectively in the 17th Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship at the SMS Indoor hall here today.

A Amalraj who had entered the Indian open semifinal displayed impressive performance in the qualifying round as he beat AI Mahbub Khonkoker Billah of Bangladesh by 1-5, 11-7, 11-7. Neha Agrawal too performed well in the women section as she prevailed over Natasha Ress of Wales 11-7, 11-6, 11-8.

The other notable player who have qualified for the men's single draw are Anirban Nandi (Bangal), Shivaji Dutta (PSPB), Devash Karia (Rajasthan) and B Jitendra (Dena Bank).

In the women section the notable qualifier are Mousmi Pal (PSPB), Mamta Pradhan (Maharashtra), K Shimini and Kasturi Chakravarti (both PSPB).

The main draw will come into force led this evening.
