Amalraj, Poulomi win East Zone TT titles

Bolpur, Aug 29: Anthony Amalraj and Poulomi Ghatak of Petroleum Sports Promotion Broad (PSPB) clinched the men's and women's singles title at the Eastern India Table Tennis Championships here on Sunday.

Amalraj defeated his PSPB teammate Subhajit Saha 11-9 11-3 12-10 11-5 in the men's final, while in the women's title clash, which was also an all-PSPB affair, Poulomi got the better of Ankita Das 9-11 11-8 11-7 11-8 12-10.

In the youth category, Petroleum's G Sathiyan beat Soumyajit Ghosh of Airports Authority of India 5-11 11-6 12-10 10-12 11-2 11-7 in the boys final. Ankita scored victory in the youth girls final, beating KK Narmada of Indian Bank 5-11 11-9 11-3 11-6 11-6.
