Amandeep Johl slips to tied 33rd at Selangor Masters

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, Aug 7 (UNI) Amandeep Johl fired two over 73 to be placed tied 33rd after the second round of the Worldwide Selangor Masters here today.

Amandeep Johl (69, 73), who slipped from overnight tied 12th, however, continued to be the highest-placed Indian.

His total reads even par 142. Johl birdied the fifth, 10th, 11th and bogeyed the seventh, 12th, 15th, 16th and 18th.

Gaurav Ghei (69, 74) finished the day in tied 47th with a total of one over 143. Ghei's second round was marked by three birdies, three bogeys and a triple bogey.

Himmat Singh Rai - the best Indian performer on day two, had an exceptional day which enabled him to climb from overnight tied 120th to tied 53rd. Rai was four under for the second round after 15 holes. He had a magnificent run of three consecutive birdies on the 13th, 14th, 15th. This was followed by two more birdies on the third and sixth. His lone bogey came on the fifth hole. The 21-year-old now has an aggregate of two over as he had fired 77 in the first round.

Anirban Lahiri who carded 74 in round one is also tied 53rd. He was one under in the second round after having played just three holes.

Chandigarh's Ranjit Singh occupies tied 67th place. Ranjit could complete only three holes today and was two over for the day.

He had returned 72 in round one.

Gaganjeet Bhullar's three holes in the second round yielded a score of three over. He is now tied 91st having shot 73 yesterday.

Gurbaaz Mann (76, 75) slipped to tied 124th with a total of nine over 151.

Harmeet Kahlon (71), Digvijay Singh (75), Rahil Gangjee (77) and Kolkata's Ranjit Singh (80) could not begin their respective rounds today while Arjun Singh (77) withdrew from the event.
