Bengaluru: Zara Anand Leads By Two Shots In 8th Leg Of Hero Womens Pro Golf Tour

Amateur Zara Anand stayed in front after two rounds of the eighth leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Bangalore Golf Club. The 17-year-old from NOIDA signed 2-under 66 on the Par-68 course. Zara reached 6-under 130 and carried a two-shot cushion into the final round.

First-round co-leader Lavanya Jadon held second at 4-under 132 after an even-par 68. One shot back, Smriti Bhargav and Durga Nittur shared third at 3-under 133. Both returned 68 on day two, after opening 65, to keep close to the lead.

Zara Anand began with three straight pars and then made three birdies in a row. Zara Anand stayed steady through the turn with more pars. On the back nine, Zara Anand dropped the only shot on the 12th. Zara Anand then parred the remaining holes to protect the lead.

Zara Anand had three second-place finishes across the last two seasons. One of those came at this same venue in the eighth leg in 2025. Zara Anand also finished second in the 13th leg in 2025. Earlier in 2026, Zara Anand placed second in the second leg.

Lavanya Jadon searched for a second career win on the tour. Lavanya Jadon earlier won at DLF Golf and Country Club last year. Lavanya Jadon beat Zara Anand in a play-off there. On day two, Lavanya Jadon opened with a bogey, then recovered immediately.

Lavanya Jadon dropped another shot on the fifth and turned in 1-over. Lavanya Jadon then birdied the 10th and the 12th. Five pars followed, before a bogey on the 18th. Smriti Bhargav had four birdies and four bogeys, and ended bogey-bogey.

Vidhatri Urs and Anvvi Dahhiya tied fifth at 2-under 134. Vidhatri Urs followed 69 with 65, while Anvvi Dahhiya posted 66 and 68. Jasmine Shekar and Mannat Brar shared seventh place. Jasmine Shekar shot 68-67, and Mannat Brar carded 67-68.

Amandeep Drall produced the day’s best score with a 64 after an opening 72. That surge moved Amandeep Drall into tied ninth at even-par 136. Ridhima Dilawari also sat tied ninth at 136 after rounds of 69 and 67. The cut fell at 7-over 143, with 35 players advancing.

Sneha Singh, Khushi Khanijau and Seher Atwal were among those missing the cut. Vani Kapoor withdrew due to medical reasons. The final round began early, with groups split between Tee 1 and Tee 10. The last group on Tee 1 included Durga Nittur, Lavanya Jadon and Zara Anand.

The eighth leg set up a final-round contest led by Zara Anand at 6-under 130. Lavanya Jadon remained the nearest challenger at 4-under 132, with Smriti Bhargav and Durga Nittur one further back. With 35 players making the cut at 143, the closing day at Bangalore Golf Club featured a full schedule from two tees.
