On Tuesday, Anahat Singh, India's newly minted Women's No 1 in Squash, showcased her skills with a dynamic victory in the second round of the JSW Indian Open held at the Bombay Gymkhana.
This tournament, marking India's inaugural PSA Squash Copper event, witnessed Anahat's splendid performance alongside Joshna Chinappa and Akanksha Salunkhe, both of whom secured their wins effortlessly.

Anahat, at just 17 years old and a pride of JSW's support system, overpowered Spain's Cristina Gomez with a blend of strength and strategy, claiming victory in a mere 30 minutes. Anahat Singh's triumph set the tone for the day, as she did not give her opponent, Gomez, any ground to recover, winning with a score of 3-1 (11-5, 9-11, 11-5, 11-2).
Similarly, Joshna Chinappa breezed past her competitor, Sofia Mateos of Spain, in just 20 minutes with scores of 11-1, 11-7, 11-8, demonstrating exceptional skill and precision. Similarly, Velavan Senthilkumar was outplayed by Egypt's Kareem El Torkey, losing 3-0 (11-7, 11-3, 11-5), demonstrating the high level of competition at the tournament.
