Anand draws with Radjabov in 7th round
Wijk Aan Zee, Jan 20 (UNI) Viswanathan Anand split points with chart topper Azerbaijani Grandmaster Teymour Radjabov in the seventh round of the Corus chess tournament here today.
Beaten by world champion Vladimir Kramnik in the previous round, Anand could not make the most of his advantage of playing with white and had to sign truce with Radjabov after 42 moves.
Anand will face Veselin Topalov in the eighth round tomorrow and the Indian Grandmaster will have black against the Bulgarian GM.
Meanwhile, Kramnik also had to split point with Armenian Levon Aronian in the seventh round.
