Anand preparing hard for world title clash aginst Kramnik

Chennai, May 9 (UNI) Grand Master Viswanathan Anand, who is enjoying another good year in his already illustrious chess career, all set to be decorated with the Chess Oscar again and Padma Vibhushan by Government of India, today said he was presently concentrating on the world title match to be played in October.

Anand, who had emerged the world champion in Mexico in September 2007, will be challenged by Vladimir Kramnik for the title.

Anand , who interacted on line with the media all over the country at a function to inaugurate the NIIT 'mind chess championship' for school children here, said he was already practising hard.

Anand said Kramnik was a tough opponent.

Reminiscing on his world championship matches in Mixico last year, Anand said the penultimate round match against Russian Alexander Grischuk was the best. I cherish that match to be one of my best'', he added. Anand managed to draw that contest from a losing position, it may be recalled.

Anand, who is the brand ambassador for NIIT, said, the mind chess championship for school kids was aimed at creating more awareness among children about chess and motivate them to take to the sport.

''We have tied up with lot of schools'', Anand said and strongly advocated that chess should be introduced in the curriculum in schools.
