Andaman athletics team gets entry in National Games

Port Blair, Feb 1 (UNI) The Andaman athletics team for the first time will participate in the 33rd National Games to be held at Guwahati, Asom, from February 9 to 18, after getting approval from the Athletics Federation of India and Indian Olympic Association.

''In this connection, a ten-member team including two officials has already left for Guwahati by ship,'' said M Shiyad, the general secretary of Andaman and Nicobar State Olympic Association.

Shiyad told UNI that the team will have 5-day special coaching camp at Salt Lake Stadium, Regional SAI Centre, Kolkata.

The team will then leave for Guwahati on February 8. UNI
