Indian golf star Anirban Lahiri has expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming International Series India presented by DLF, calling it the "biggest event" the country has ever hosted. The tournament, set to take place at the DLF Golf and Country Club next week, marks a significant milestone for Indian golf and the Asian Tour.
Lahiri will be competing alongside his Crushers GC teammates, including U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau and multiple-time winner Paul Casey. As a seasoned professional with seven Asian Tour titles, Lahiri sees this event as a crucial step toward establishing India as a regular destination on the International Series calendar.

Lahiri emphasized the importance of making International Series India an annual fixture on the Asian Tour. He praised DLF for their efforts in bringing the tournament to the country, stating, "It's only fitting that The International Series presented by DLF comes to India. I hope this becomes a regular event and one of the highlights of Indian golf. In the subcontinent, it will be the biggest tournament."
The 36-year-old, who has represented India globally, believes that the Asian Tour has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of many Indian golfers. Reflecting on his journey, Lahiri said, "India has been an integral part of the Asian Tour. Many of our legends, including Jeev Milkha Singh and S.S.P. Chawrasia, owe their success to this platform."
Lahiri had an impressive run in 2024, securing four top-10 finishes in the LIV Golf League, including a runner-up finish at LIV Golf Andalucía and top-six finishes in Chicago, Houston, and Jeddah. However, he aims for greater consistency in the upcoming season.
"I wasn't very consistent last year. I want to raise my level and get into contention more often. Winning my first title is a goal I'm focused on, and I'm determined to play well in the majors," Lahiri stated.
The International Series serves as a crucial pathway to the LIV Golf League, offering players a chance to secure their spot through season rankings or the LIV Golf Promotions event. Lahiri's performance in the upcoming tournament could be a stepping stone to further success in his professional journey.
