Anthony Davis made a strong debut for the Dallas Mavericks, scoring 26 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. Despite his impressive performance, he left the game with a lower-body injury. The Mavericks secured a 116-105 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Davis, who was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers, shot 10 of 18 from the field and contributed three blocks.
Davis's exit came late in the third quarter due to tightness in his groin and quadriceps. "Leg got tight, like a little spasm," Davis explained. "Came back and tried to get it loose and everything, obviously dealing with the ab, strained still. It wouldn't loosen up and let go. But it's nothing serious." This was his first game since January 28 due to an abdominal strain.

The game marked Davis's first appearance in Dallas following his trade for Luka Dončić. While some fans protested against general manager Nico Harrison, Davis received applause from the crowd. Max Christie, also part of the trade deal, impressed off the bench with 23 points for Dallas. Alperen Şengün led Houston with 30 points and eight rebounds.
In another matchup, Stephen Curry scored 34 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Chicago Bulls 132-111. Jimmy Butler debuted for Golden State after being acquired from Miami Heat and scored 25 points. Butler shot efficiently, hitting seven of twelve shots and making eleven of thirteen free throws.
Curry showcased his shooting prowess by making eight of sixteen three-point attempts while also providing six assists. The Warriors dominated on rebounds with sixteen offensive boards, including four by Gui Santos off the bench. Coby White led Chicago with 27 points and four assists in their loss.
Jayson Tatum powered the Boston Celtics past the New York Knicks with a commanding performance of 40 points in their 131-104 win. Tatum hit seven three-pointers and added six rebounds along with four assists while committing just one turnover.
Payton Pritchard contributed significantly off the bench by scoring 25 points and making six out of eight three-point attempts as Boston sank nineteen threes overall. With Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined due to illness, Luke Kornet stepped up by shooting perfectly from the field at seven for seven.
Despite Jalen Brunson's effort of scoring thirty-six points alongside five assists for New York Knicks, they struggled collectively shooting only thirty-eight point four percent as a team.
