AP, Kerala women open on winning note

Puducherry, Nov 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh and Kerala women had easy outings in the league matches of the 29th South Zone Handball championship here today.

While Andhra outplayed Tamil Nadu 14-9, Kerala prevailed over Karnataka 12-8.

In the men's event, Kerala and Tamil Nadu lost to Andhra Pradesh 26-34 and 19-24 respectively, while Tamil Nadu and Karnataka defeated Puducherry 32-20 and 22-9 respectively.

Earlier, Puducherry Speaker R Radhakrishnan inaugurated the championship.
