AP, Punjab win women, men titles

Vjayawada, Feb 28 (UNI) Hosts Andhra Pradesh and Punjab tonight won the women's and men's titles defeating Chandigarh and Delhi in the 26th Senior National Netball Championship at Ongole.

Andhra Pradesh trounced Chandigarh 32-26 in the final which lasted for an hour.

For the hosts, captain Monalisa and Parmeswari played brilliantly.

Earlier in an exciting match, Punjab won narrowly defeating Delhi 33-32.

About 25 men and 21 women teams comprising 670 from players across the country participated in the five-day championship.

Result: (final): Women: Andhra Pradesh bt Chandigarh 32-26 Men: Punjab bt Delhi 33-32.
