Argentine Tevez open to switch from Man U to Man City

By Super Admin

London, May 13 (ANI): Argentine striker Carlos Tevez has opened the door to a dramatic move from Manchester United to neighbours City.

Tevez's agent Kia Joorabchian dropped a big hint last night that City, backed by the billions of Abu Dhabi owner Sheikh Mansour, are a serious option for the Old Trafford crowd favourite.

The Sun quoted Joorabchian as saying Tevez is prepared to join a club who are not in the Champions League providing they have the ambition and resources to qualify for Europe's elite competition.

City is one of the few clubs in Europe who can afford Tevez's 32 million pound price tag and 100,000-pound-a-week wage demands.

Manager Mark Hughes has been given a blank cheque book by the Sheikh with the mandate of turning the club into a Champions League force.

Joorabchian said: "There is a lot of interest in Carlos. His preference is to stay in England. Every player at his level wants to play in the biggest competitions that they can and the Champions League is the biggest. But Carlos is not the kind of person who says, 'I have to play for this club'. He has never been like that."

Joorabchian says Tevez could join City or any of the other clubs chasing him with a clear conscience because, as yet, United have made no attempt to turn his loan spell into a permanent deal. (ANI)
