Arjun Singh finishes 28th at Iskandar Johor Open

Johor Bahru, Malyasia, Nov 2 (UNI) Carding an even par third round, India's Arjun Singh finished at 28th in the Iskandar Johor Open at the Royal Johor Country Club here today.

Remaining at the top-20 or thereabouts often enough this season, Arjun was the best among the Indians, to make the cut at the tournament.

In the previous rounds, he carded 72, 72 and 71 and finished with a total of one-under 287.

Among the other Indians in the fray, Gaurav Ghei and Gaganjeet Bhullar remained in a good position, as they managed to fall inside the top-10 at various times, after they ballooned to 78 and 77 on the final day.

Ghei, who was placed 10th after the third round, ended at one-over 289, sliding to the 34th place.

However, Bhullar, who shared the lead after the second round, had an ordinary last round to finish 34th.

A two-time US Open winner, Goosen overcame an overnight four-shot deficit to end a frustrating 21-month title drought with his magnificent two-stroke victory.

Thai veteran Thaworn Wiratchant and Australian Kane Webber, though, challenged Goosen all the way but they had settle for the second and third place respectively after a 71 and 70.

Niclas Fasth of Sweden, who was the overnight leader and former Ryder Cup star faltered on the final day with a three-over 75 to finish at seven-under 281 and slip to tied fourth.
