Arman finishes second, two points behind championship leader

By Staff

Chennai, Sep 16 (UNI) Armaan Ebrahim drove a spectacular race in wet conditions to finish second despite starting last on the grid in FV6 Renault Asia championship at Chengdu in China today.

According to a press release from Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) here, 18 year-old Armaan had to pull out everything he was capable of, after faring poorly in the sprint races yesterday.

In the Grand race consisting of 30 laps, Armaan had his work cut out. The track being an extremely tight one, made matters worse for the 18 year-old Chennai kid.

Armaan put everything behind him and after making a safe start, started to pick the cars ahead of him one by one. He then caught up with the leader James Winslow from Great Britain and was decisively quicker than him.

However, with puddles across the corners, James defended well and Armaan did not risk another DNF and finished a brilliant second. He is now two points behind Winslow in the championship.
