Arsenal's interim head coach, Renee Slegers, praised her entire team after their 4-0 victory against Juventus in the Champions League. This win places Arsenal second in their group, three points ahead of the third spot. Slegers emphasised the importance of recognising the contributions from all players, not just those scoring goals.
Slegers highlighted the significance of teamwork, noting that while forwards often get attention for scoring, other positions are equally crucial. "We have four different goalscorers and the players up top are performing really well, but I don't want to take out the goalkeeper, our back four and our two sixes as well," she stated. She also praised Wally and Kim for their excellent midfield coverage.

The match against Juventus marked Slegers' fourth win in five games since taking over from Jonas Eidevall. She acknowledged that Juventus presented a unique challenge compared to previous opponents. "They play a different kind of football, which we haven't really faced yet this season," Slegers explained.
Facing an unfamiliar style of play required Arsenal to adjust their tactics. The intense nature of the game was both physically and mentally demanding. Slegers expressed pride in her team's performance under these conditions. "Coming here for an away game, the travelling and then this type of football, which is very intense from a psychological and physical perspective, I'm very proud of the girls and their performance," she said.
The support from fans also played a significant role in motivating the team. Slegers noted how visible and audible fan support provided an extra boost during matches. "I think it's massive. I think it's so impressive how much they support us and I think it gives us a couple of extra percentages in the games," she remarked.
Overall, Slegers was delighted with both the result and her team's ability to adapt to new challenges while maintaining strong performances across all areas of play.
