Arunachal car rally from Feb 27

Guwahati, Feb 22 (UNI) Bharti Airtel will present the Airtel Arunachal Rally 2008, being organised by the District Administration, West Kameng District, and the Arunachal Pradesh government.

The rally will be managed by Motor Sports Club of Arunachal with the support of the Army, namely the fifth-Mountain Division.

This rally was the much-awaited annual sporting event of the state.

The flag off would be on February 25 from Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh.

Those, who had confirmed their participation in this year's rally, are Suresh Rana, Sanket Shanbag, Along Aier, Lima Jamir, Sandeep Sharma and Chetan Shivam amongst others.

The route of the rally will be a picturesque one. The rally would hit Dirang valley and then Sangti valley, the winter home of the famous Black Necked crane.

It would then climb up to the famous Dirang apple orchards at Zimthung village before hitting the fast riverbed section at Dirang Valley.

The return to Bomdila would see a repeat of the fast 1st SS section that would see cars at the ultimate speed possible beyond human imagination in the hills.
