Ashley Cole 'blames mother-in-law for wrecked marriage'

London, Feb 25 (ANI): Ashley Cole is apparently blaming his mother-in-law for his wrecked marriage.

The footballer, who is said to have cheated on wife Cheryl with five women in their five years together, does not think his randy antics are responsible for the ruined relationship.

In fact, he has claimed that Cheryl's mum Joan is responsible for the breakdown of their marriage.

Cole said his marriage hit the skids when Joan moved into their nine-bedroom 3.5 million pounds Surrey mansion two years ago.

"He's in a terrible state. He loves Cheryl with all his heart and never wanted it to come to this," the Daily Star quoted a friend close to the footballer as saying.

"But now that she has pulled the plug, his love has turned to anger. He's told her she'll have to fight for every penny of his money.

"He blames everything on Joan living with them. He says they haven't had room to breathe and moaned that she took her daughter's side in everything.

"They couldn't even have a proper row he said. But Cheryl insisted on her mum moving in after he cheated on her the first time.

"He was so desperate to keep the marriage going he would have agreed to anything. But he didn't think of the long-term problems," the friend added. (ANI)
