Asia Cup in Pakistan next year

Dhaka, May 11 (UNI) ACC Chief Executive Ashrafful Haq today said the Asia Cup would be held next year in Pakistan between April 17 and May 3 after a gap of two years as the busy calendar of all the four Test playing nations forced its omission.

Talking to UNI here today, Haq said, ''The last two years we could not hold the Asia Cup due to the busy ICC calendar. We had tried to hold it in 2006 but had failed because of the Test playing teams' international commitment.'' ''But we are going to have it next year,'' he said.

He further revealed that Twenty20 cricket will feature in 2010 Asian Games with four Test playing nations getting direct entry in the final and four qualifiers from the other non-test playing nations in Asia.

Asked about the biggest job at hand, he said, ''The biggest job at hand is to get China to play cricket.'' UNI
