Annu Rani clinches the gold medal with a throw of 62.92m! A much-needed success for the national record holder after a season full of struggles!

A 62.92m throw and the Indian national record sits top of the chart! She is now ahead of the two Chinese by a distance of more than a metre. That's certainly the season best by Annu Rani, who crosses 60m-mark for the first time this season. One round to go, will any of the Chinese athletes replace her at the top?

Tejaswin Shankar finished fourth in the 1500m race but he bagged a total of 7666 points to win a silver medal and also broke the previous nation record of 7658 points in the discipline. China's Sun Qihao gets the yellow metal.

Tejaswin Shankar remains in 2nd place while Qihao opens up a 289 points-gap at front! Looks like Tejaswin Shankar will have to settle for a silver medal at the Asian Games 2023. All he has to do now finish ahead or as much as close possible to Yuma Maruyama in the round 10. Maruyama is 117 points behind the Indian at the third place. The last round -- 1500m -- will take place at 6:10 PM IST!

The Round 9 didn't go well for Tejaswin Shankar, who could only throw a 51.17m while China's Sun Qihao with 804 points as he threw a personal best of 64.41m. Men's Decathlon standings after Round 9 is up next!

Abdullah Aboobacker improves to a decent 16.62 in his second attempt but followed it with a foul of his third. Meanwhile, China's Zhu Yaming has set the bar higher at 17.13m, which is also the first big jump of the night! Chithravel is holding the bronze medal spot at 16.68m, 16.62m of his two attempts

No medals from the event as Yashash P clocks a 49.39 seconds (0.02 slower than his personal best) to take the 5th spot in a photo finish with compatriot Santhosh Kumar, who clocked a 49.41 to finish 6th!
Two Indians in the fray as Santhosh Kumar T and Yashash P, who have been fighting tooth and nail in the domestic circuit throughout the season and take their rivalry international at the Asian Games 2023! Both of them did well during the heats

That's a decent start by the Indian while China's Zhu Yaming has set the standard for the day at 16.94m!

Vithya Ramraj clocks a 55.68 seconds to take the bronze medal but the national record jointly remains with PT Usha and hers at 55.42 seconds! Meanwhile, Kemi Adekoya takes the gold medal with a timing of 54.45, which is a new Asian Games Record!
It's the big final as all eyes are on Vithya Ramraj, who is on the brink of making PT Usha's national record all hers! We will keep an eye on the timing, it needs to be less than 55.42 seconds! Hot favourite for the gold medal though is Kemdi Adekoya, who will be looking to clock a sub-53 timing! The race is about to start!

Abdullah couldn't generate enough power from the skip and could only jumps 15.39m in his first attempt. Not happy with his effort either but points out that he lost his footing during the skip!
Men's triple jump final is all set to get underway as well with two Indian in fray! CWG silver medallist Abdullah Aboobacker and national record holder Praveen Chithtravel. Chithravel recorded his best earlier this year at 17.37m while Abdullah is yet to go past the 17m-mark this year as he struggled with injuries

16-year-old Pooja and Rubina Yadav compete for medals and will be facing stiff challenge from Kristina Ovchinnikova, Svetlana Radzivil, Nadezhda Dubovitskaya! Men's decathlon to also get underway shortly as Tejaswin Shankar will compete in the Round 9, which is javelin throw

A masterclass by the Indian veteran as he closes the third game 11-3 to take the match 3-0 against Yungyu Lee. He assures the bronze medal at least but Saurav Ghosal is here for the gold! Final score: 11-5, 12-10, 11-3

The India's World No. 15 is in mood to kill this game early as he pulls up a 7-0 lead! It's the forehand of Sourav that is leaving no chance for Tsukue!

Sourav Ghosal takes the second game 12-10 after Tsukue showed a fight by saving two game points! Sourav needs another game to reach the semifinals!

Sourav Ghosal returned to the court to take the first game comfortably and pulled up a gap in the second as well against Yungyu Lee, who rallied to level the score at 7-7!
Saurav Ghosal opens up a lead of 7-3 in the opening game. The game has been halted momentarily as the Indian is taking a medical break after hurting his knee in a fall
