The Men's 10m Air Rifle record-breaking trio of Rudrankkash Balasaheb Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar & Divyansh Singh Panwar clinched the first gold medal for India in the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou on Monday (September 25).
While the women's 10m Air Rifle team won the country's first medal in the 19th Asian Games on Sunday (September 24), the men followed up with a yellow metal 24 hours later to add the sixth medal to India's tally.

Patil, Tomar and Panwar shot a total points of 1893.7 to finish first in the men's 10m air rifle team event as two of them also qualified for the indiviual event final.
Patil finished third in qualifying with a total score of 632.5, while Tomar finished fifth with 631.6 and Panwar missed out on the last qualifying spot despite finishing with 629.6, the same as Kazakhstan's Islam Satpayev.
The trio's impressive score of 1893.7 not only secured the top spot but also shattered China's world record of 1893.3 points set in August 2023. In Asian Games 2023, the Korean trio finished second to claim sliver in the team event with 1890.1 and China bagged bronze with 1888.2.
The 10m Air Rifle shooters will return for individual final later on Monday (September 25), when Tomar beat off compatriot Patil for bronze with China's Lihao Sheng winning gold and Korea's Hajun Park winning silver. Tomar shot a total score of 228.8 for bronze, while Patil finished fourth with 208.7.
Meanwhile, the rowers continued to impress with another bronze as the men's four team of Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar & Ashish finished third in the Final A with a timing of 6:10.81. The Indians finished behind first-paced Uzbekistan and third-placed China.
Satnam Singh, Parminder Singh, Jakar Khan & Sukhmeet Singh added the second bronze on the day as they quartet finished third in men's quadruple Final A with a timing of 6:08.61. China once again clinched gold, while Uzbekistan won silver.
In the men's singles sculls final, India's Balraj Panwar missed out on finishing on the podium as he came fourth behind first-placed Chinese rower, second-placed Japanese rower and third-placed Hong Kong rower.
The women's eight team finished last in their final event, ending the Indian rowers campaign at the Asian Games 2023 with five medals - two silver and three bronze.
India so far has won nine medals at the ongoing Asian Games, consisting of one gold, three silver, and five bronze. The shooting events at the Asian Games Hangzhou will be conducted from September 24 to October 1, while Rowing events concluded on Monday (September 25).
