Asian Games 2023: Mepung Lamgu, a wushu athlete, issued an update on herself on Saturday, after media reports stated he had "gone incommunicado," leaving her family concerned.
Lamgu was one of three Arunachal Pradesh athletes who were denied accreditation cards and instead were given stapled visas by China, which is hosting the Hangzhou Asian Games.

"I'm OK and am currently staying in SAI Hostel." There is nothing to worry about because I am in daily contact with my family. "Thank you for your concern and support," Lamgu wrote on the social networking platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Lamgu also shared a photo of herself eating breakfast with SAI police to assuage any fears.
"We stand with the three Asian Games-bound wushu athletes, providing the utmost care for them at this hour," the Sports Authority of India tweeted. The SAI Guesthouse is looking for the three athletes."
In addition to Lamgu, Nyeman Wangsu and Onulu Tega were barred from flying to China. The group was slated to appear in the Opening Ceremony on Saturday evening, followed by their events on Sunday.
A diplomatic row has erupted as a result of the incident. Anurag Thakur, India's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports, cancelled her trip to China on Friday.
