Parul Chaudhary and Priti showcased their athletic prowess at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, securing silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the women's 3000m steeplechase.
However, their achievements were overshadowed by Bahrain's Yavi Winfred Mutile, who not only defended her title but also set a new Asian Games record with a remarkable timing of 9:18.28 seconds.

Parul's silver medal-winning performance, with a time of 9:27.63 seconds, was impressive but still over nine seconds behind Yavi's record-breaking run.
While Parul did break the Asian Games record, it was nowhere near her personal best and national record of 9:15.31 seconds, achieved during the World Championships in Budapest, which had earned her a spot in the Paris Olympics earlier in August.
Priti, on the other hand, clinched the bronze medal with a personal best time of 9:43.32 seconds, edging out Bahrain's Mekonen Tigest Getent by a slim margin.
Yavi's dominance in the race was evident as she steadily pulled away from her competitors during the grueling event, leaving Parul trailing far behind.
Yavi, who was born in Kenya but represented Bahrain, had previously won the 2023 World Athletics Championships gold in the same event, defeating her compatriot Beatrice Chepkoech. In the Asian Games, she finished an impressive 50 meters ahead of Parul.
