On day 4 of the competiion at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, several Indian teams and players were in action across different venues as men's and women's table tennis started their campaign, while sailors, rowers and men's volleyball team continued their run.
The Indian men's and women's table tennis teams started their preliminary round group stage action at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium, where the men played in two ties and the women in a single tie.

The men's volleyball team, who secured upset win in their final pool stage match against South Korea, were in round of 12 action against another superior-ranked team in Chinese Taipei. Also, history-maker Mayank Chaphekar was in Modern Pentathlon - Individual Fencing bonus round action.
Meanwhile, the sailors continued their series of races at the Xiangshan Sailing Centre in Ningbo, and the lone rower - Balraj Panwar was in semifinal action at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre in Hangzhou. Here is a look at how the Indian contingent performed on Friday (September 22).
Volleyball: The Indian men's team, ranked 73, continued their winning streak with another upset win in the round of 12. This time they secured straight sets 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-21) victory over 43rd rank and 2018 bronze medallist Chinese Taipei. They will now play Japan in the quarterfinal on Sunday (September 24).
Rowing: The lone Indian men's singles sculls rower in action on Friday (September 22), Balraj Panwar remained in the hunt for a medal after qualifying for the Final A, which is scheduled for Monday (September 25), when six rowers will battle for three medals.
The Indian rower Panwar finished third in Semifinal A/B 2 with a timing of 7:22.22 to book his spot in the medal round. China's Zhang Liang finished first with a timing of 7:12.77, while Kazakhstan's Vladislav Yakovlev clocked 7:19.27 to finish second.
Also on Friday (September 22), the men's quadruple sculls team reached the Final A and remained in contention for a medal after finishing first in the repechage round with a timing of 6:09.94.
Table Tennis: The men's team opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over Yemen in the first tie of their preliminary round. They followed that with a 3-1 win against Singapore during the evening session in their second preliminary round tie. The women's team beat Singapore 3-2 in their opening tie.
Modern Pentathlon: India's history-maker Chaphekar finished 13th in the men's individual semfinal b after the fencing bonus round, swimming and laser run events with a total of 1005 points.
