Indian rowers carried on their positive start on Thursday (September 21) as the lightweight men's doubles sculls and men's doubles sculls teams entered the medal round at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 after topping their respective repechage rounds in Hangzhou.
Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh topped the Men's Lightweight Doubles Sculls Repechage 1 with a timing of 6:55.78 to enter Final A, which takes place on Sunday (September 24) at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre in Hangzhou, China.

The Indian duo jumped into an early lead and never let go of it until the finish. Japan finished second with the timing of 7:05.91 while the Philippines secured the third position by clocking 7:10.97.
Satnam Singh (bow) and Parminder Singh, meanwhile, topped Men's Doubles Sculls Repechage 1 with a timing of 6:48.06 to enter Final A. Iraq also finished second and booked their place in Final A, while Hong Kong China, Sri Lanka and Kuwait, the others in the field entered Final B.
Meanwhile, the Women's Lightweight Doubles Sculls team of Kiran and Anshika Bharti finished fourth in Repechage 2 with a timing of 8:01.80 and entered the Final B, where they will battle for positions 7-11 on Sunday (September 24).
Also, the men's quadruple team of Satnam Singh, Parminder Singh, Jakar Khan & Sukhmeet Singh also finished first in the repechage round with a timing of 6:09.94 to book a spot in the Final A, which is scheduled to take place on Monday (September 25).
Later on Friday (September 22), Bairaj Panwar will be in men's singles sculls semifinal action with the final of the event scheduled to take place on September 25.
Earlier on Wednesday (September 20), the men's eight team entered Final A after finishing second with a timing of 5:38.65 in the preliminary race, while the men's pair also reached Final A after a third place finish in the preliminary race with a timing of 6:42.59.
The women's four team also entered Final A after finishing sixth in the preliminary race with a timing of 7:09.07. All the Final A events will take place on Sunday (September 24) and Monday (September 25), the final day of the rowing event in Hangzhou.
