Asian Games 2026: India's Full Schedule on September 20, Key Events, Timings and Players

India will be involved in a packed programme at the Asian Games 2026 on Sunday (September 20), with athletes competing across multiple disciplines and several important team events also scheduled.

The day features medal opportunities in Wushu, Shooting and Teqball, while India’s women’s cricket and hockey teams, along with the men’s hockey side, will also be in action. The Indian Table Tennis teams have four group-stage matches scheduled during the day.

Asian Games 2026: Major Events for India on Sunday

The first major Indian appearance comes at 5:30 AM IST, when Suraj Singh Mayanglambam competes in the men’s Changquan final in Wushu, giving India an early medal opportunity.

Shooting also offers a major medal prospect. Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod compete in the women’s 10m air rifle individual qualification and team final at 6:15 AM. The individual final is scheduled for 11 AM, subject to qualification.

In Teqball, Quimcy Dsouza has two bronze-medal matches. She faces Japan’s Yuina Sakamoto in the women’s singles at 6:30 AM, before teaming up with Mohamed Anas Beg in the mixed doubles bronze-medal match at 7 AM against Vietnam.

Table Tennis, Badminton and Hockey

Table Tennis will be one of India’s busiest sports on Sunday. The women’s team faces Indonesia at 6:30 AM and Singapore at 12:30 PM, while the men meet Indonesia at 9 AM and Iran at 3 PM in Group F.

In Badminton, India’s women’s team begins its campaign against Kazakhstan at 11:30 AM in the opening Round of 16. Meanwhile, both Indian hockey teams will be in action. The women face Uzbekistan at 7:30 AM in Pool B, while the men take on Indonesia at 11:30 AM in Pool A.

The cricket programme also has a major fixture, with India Women facing Bangladesh at 10:30 AM in the semifinal.
