Asian Games 2026: Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Anantjeet Singh Naruka Win Bronze in Mixed Skeet

India added another shooting medal to its Asian Games 2026 tally as Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Anantjeet Singh Naruka won bronze in the mixed skeet team event in Aichi-Nagoya on Thursday.

The Indian pair entered the medal round after finishing fourth in qualification with 138 hits out of 150 targets. Qatar topped the qualification standings with 145, followed by South Korea with 143 and China with 140, leaving India with the final qualifying position.

In the final, Dhaliwal and Naruka produced a combined score of 44 hits to secure third place. China eventually claimed gold with 52 hits, while South Korea took silver with 51.

India's bronze came after a tense medal round. The Indian pair was tied with South Korea on 44 after six series, but South Korea had entered the final in the higher qualification position. As a result, the Korean pair retained the higher position while India settled for bronze.

The medal also gave both Indian shooters their second medal of the Asian Games. Naruka had earlier helped India win bronze in the men's skeet team event alongside Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill. Dhaliwal was part of the women's skeet team that also won bronze, alongside Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan.

The mixed-skeet bronze further strengthened India's impressive showing in skeet at Aichi-Nagoya, with Indian shooters now having secured medals in the men's team, women's team and mixed team events.

India Men's Air Pistol Team Disappoint

In a contrasting fashion, the men's 10m Air Pistol team largely disappointed at the Asian Games 2026. After missing out the podium in the team event, none of the three shooters could qualify for the individual final. Despite being in the Bronze medal position in the majority of the qualification, they missed out and finished 4th in the team event.

Kamaljeet finished 9th the qualifiers, thus missing the final by a whisker, while Aakash Bharadwaj could only finish in 11th place. The other shooter, Kedarling Uchaganve, had a disappointing outing as he finished in 35th place.
