Asian Games 2026: Roshibina Devi Assures Third Successive Asiad Medal, Extends Wushu Legacy
India's Roshibina Devi has assured herself a third successive Asian Games medal after advancing to the women's 60kg Sanda semi-finals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026.
The Manipuri wushu star defeated Macao's Chu Man Sin 5-0 in the quarter-final on Tuesday, September 22, guaranteeing her a place on the podium once again.

The achievement puts Roshibina in an elite bracket of Indian athletes who have consistently medalled at three editions of the Asian Games. Her journey began at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games, where she won bronze in the women's 60kg Sanda event. Five years later, she improved that performance at Hangzhou 2023, claiming silver after reaching the final.
At Hangzhou, Roshibina defeated Kazakhstan's Aiman Karshyga in the quarter-finals before beating Vietnam's Thi Thu Thuy Nguyen in the semi-finals. She eventually lost to China's Wu Xiaowei in the gold-medal bout, finishing with silver.
Now, in Nagoya, Roshibina has once again made the semi-finals. Her 5-0 victory over Chu Man Sin ensured that her Asian Games medal collection would grow to three.
Roshibina's achievement is particularly significant given the selection uncertainty surrounding her participation in the 2026 Games. Despite the drama before the tournament, the Wushu Association backed her inclusion in the Indian contingent.
Born in Manipur's Bishnupur district, Roshibina started her wushu journey at a young age and trained at the Sports Authority of India centre in Imphal. Her rise from a small village to becoming a three-time Asian Games medallist has made her one of India's most established names in the sport.
With another medal already assured, Roshibina will now look to go one step further in Nagoya and convert her latest campaign into a gold-medal finish. She will be in action on Wednesday against Thania Kusumaningtyas, and the entire nation will be hoping for another ascent to her medal colour - Bronze, Silver, now Gold?
