Indian Boxing is preparing to take a significant leap forward in achieving international acclaim as its contingent heads to China for a substantial training session ahead of the Asian Games 2022.
This article seeks to highlight the planning and preparations being carried out by the Indian Boxing Team as part of its comprehensive preparation strategy.

On Sunday (September 3), the Indian Boxing contingent, comprising 13 boxers and 11 support staff members left for Wuyishan City in China. Their primary objective is to engage in an intensive 17-day-long International boxing training camp. This in-depth training is in view of the Asian Games scheduled for 2022 in Hangzhou, China.
The training camp, expected to run from September 3 to September 20, 2023, is sponsored by REC Limited, a leading state-owned enterprise in India's power sector.
This collaboration elucidates the vital role of corporate support in nurturing talent and promoting sports in India. Furthermore, it signifies the commitment towards fuelling the dreams of Indian athletes preparing for international fixtures such as the Asian Games.
The Asian Games, one of Asia's most prestigious multi-sport events, is known for testing the mettle of the best athletes from across the continent. As such, this training camp is a strategy for the Indian boxers to get accustomed to the environment and improve their techniques.
The event itself is scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8, shortly after the training camp concludes. It means the team will transition to the grand event immediately after wrapping up the rigorous training session.
