Asian Games: Indian women win 25m pistol bronze

Incheon, Sept 22: The Indian women's team won the bronze medal in the 25 metre pistol shooting event of the 17th Asian Games at the Ongnyeon International Shooting Range here on Monday.

The gold was clinched by South Korea while China took the silver.

Meanwhile, Indian swimmer Prathapan Nair on Monday failed to reach the final of the 50-metre backstroke competition.

Competing in heat 3 of the event, Nair finished fifth with 25.56 seconds. Top two swimmers of each heats qualify for the final, which will be held later Monday.

Asian record holder Junya Koga (24.24 seconds) regained his games record in heat 3 after his 2010 Asiad mark of 25.08 seconds was betterd by 0.1 seconds in heat 2 by Japan's Ryosuke Irie. Koga improved his performance by 21 seconds to take back the record within minutes from Ryosuke.
