Asian junior judo in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, June 16 (UNI) About 700 judokas from 39 countries accross the continent will take part in the first Asian Youth Judo Championships and the eighth Asian Junior Judo Championships to be held here from November 5 to 8.
Announcing this, President Judo Federation of India, Jagadish Tytler said, ''This is the first time an official Asian level Youth Judo Championships is being organised in Hyderabad.'' The bouts will be held in the 'Weight categories of below 38 Kg., 42Kgs, 46 Kgs, 50Kgs, 55 Kgs, 60Kgs and above 60 Kgs (maximum 73 Kgs) for boys and below 36Kgs, 40 Kgs, 44 Kgs, 48 Kgs, 52 Kgs, 57Kgs and above 57Kgs (maximum 70Kgs) for girls.
He said, ''About 250 players and 40 officials from 39 countries are expected to take part in the eighth Asia Junior Judo championships for men and women for Under 20 category from November 6and 7.'' The 'weight categories for men are below 55Kgs, 60Kgs, 66Kgs, 73Kgs, 81Kgs, 90Kgs, 100Kgs and above 100Kgs and for women 45Kgs, 48Kgs, 52Kgs, 57Kgs, 63Kgs, 70Kgs, 78Kgs and above 78Kgs' he said.
