Atwal at 2nd spot after Nationwide Tour first round

Greenville, US, May 16 (UNI) Indian golfer Arjun Atwal carded a fine three-under 69 to be placed at the second spot after the first round of the BMW Charity Pro-Am on the Nationwide Tour here.

Atwal was five behind leader Rick Price who fired an eight-under 64 at the Carolina Country Club here yesterday.

After stricking two early birdies on the back nine, the Chandigarh pro had birdies on the 11th and 12th but bogeyed the 16th.

He hit another birdie on the 17th to make the turn at two-under.

The Indian bogeyed the fifth On the second stretch but grabbed consecutive birdies on the sixth and seventh for a card of 69.
