Atwal hangs on at tied 46th
Fort Smith, May 6 (UNI) Arjun Atwal carded a decent one-under 69 to climb up five places to tied 46th spot at the end of the penultimate day of the Fort Smith Classic tournament here.
Tied 51st after round two, Atwal began in ominous form, firing in a birdie on the first hole, but was a bit erratic thereafter, mixing three more birdies with as many bogeys.
Atwal now has to raise his game a few notches higher if he has to seriously harbour any hopes of a decent finish as he is 11 strokes adrift of leadeboard topper Justin Bolli of America. Atwal aggregates four-under 206 with a round to go.
Bolli tops the charts with three-round total of 15-under 195, with compatriots Ron Whittaker and Jon Mills, breathing down his neck at 12-under 198s.
