Miami, Oct 24 (UNI) A week after pocketing his maiden title in Chattanooga Classic, Indian golfer Arjun Atwal experienced a mixed day as he stroked in a eagle, a birdie and four bogeys which placed him 37th at the Miccosukee Championships here.
Atwal, who is ranked 15th on the Money List and have assured a PGA Tour berth for next season, may be playing his last event on Nationwide this season, as he goes to Asia to play a series of big money events starting from Shanghai's HSBC Champions, Singapore Open and Hong Kong Open.
He opened his campaign with back-to-back bogeys and then a eagle at the fifth to turn in even. He further birdied the 13th and dropped shots on 14th and 17th closing at one-over 72 at the first round yesterday.
With four-under 67, Chris Nallen and Fran Quinn are co-leaders after yesterday's first round at the Miccosukee Golf and Country Club. Darron Stiles, Scott Gardner, Camilo Benedetti and Daniel Summerhays are tied third at three-under 68.
